The Department of Hospital Surgery was organized in September 2006 by the decision of the Academic Council of Chechen State University as a result of the division of the "united" departments. The department studied only one discipline - "Surgical diseases". In January 2015, the department was named "Surgical diseases". From 2006 to September 2014, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Dadaev Adlan Yaraskhanovich. Since January 2015, the department has been headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ferzauli Ali Nakhchoevich. In 2017, the department acquired its previous name - "hospital surgery". Disciplines of the department: • general patient care (surgery)(General Medicine, Pediatrics) • hospital surgery, pediatric surgery (General Medicine) • pediatric surgery (Pediatrics) • oncology, radiation therapy (General Medicine, Pediatrics) • anesthesiology, resuscitation, intensive care (General Medicine, Pediatrics). The department trains 2.5-6 year students studying in the specialties of "General Medicine" and "Pediatrics". The clinical bases of the department are: Republican Clinical Hospital for War Veterans named after M.T. Inderbiev, Children's Clinical Hospital No. 2 of Grozny, Republican Oncology Dispensary of Grozny, Republican Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care named after U.I. Khanbiev, Republican Clinical Hospital named after A.A. Kadyrova, Republican Children's Clinical Hospital named after E.P. Glinka. At this stage, the department is equipped with almost everything necessary. It has classrooms at all clinical sites, a conference room, a room for educational and support staff and an office for the head of the department. All rooms are after cosmetic repairs and provided with the necessary furniture. The department is equipped with computer and multimedia equipment. The department trains clinical residents in three areas: surgery, oncology, pediatric surgery. Currently, 6 clinical residents are studying at the department: 5 - in the direction of training "oncology", 1 - "surgery". The main results of the department's activities for this period: - the department has published 1 monograph, 3 teaching aids and more than 80 scientific articles; Two scientific student circles function. The department holds an intra-university Olympiad in surgery for the "Deso" cup. It is especially worth noting the second overall team place of the team of students of the Medical Institute in the Second All-Russian Universiade in Surgery with International Participation, which was held in (September 2017, October 2023) at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow) and the third overall team place at the Olympiad in Pediatric Surgery in May 2018 at the N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University in Moscow.
